Pharmacogenetics of Cardiovascular Disease

The pharmacogenetics space has expanded to study a wide range of cardiovascular drug classes and has become a mainstream discipline. The classes of pharmacogenetic markers with important clinical application are: 1) pharmacokinetic; 2) pharmacodynamic; and 3) disease mechanisms. Advances in cardiovascular pharmacogenetics have identified markers in each of these classes for a variety of medications that have exhibited improved patient outcomes.
